CAT4HEAVY
The LIFE-CAT4HEAVY project, funded by the EU LIFE Programme, uses innovative catalyst technology on heavy vehicles to reduce GHG and pollutant emissions, aligning with EU standards.
This is achieved through nanotechnology that produces multi-metallic catalytic substrates. The technology tested on 30 vehicles from the Municipality of Galatsi (Greece), the Port of Genova’s Waste Management Company ( Geam – Italy), and Mantua Region’s Public Transport Company (Apam – Italy), aimed to upgrade them from EURO IV to EURO VI standards and reducing emissions like PM2.5 and NOx by 95%.
Additionally, the project intended to show this technology can modernize heavy-duty vehicle fleets and ensure emissions compliance and to influence policy makers to advance EU emission regulations for heavy-duty vehicles.
